It’s often said that a piece of furniture adds the finishing touch to an architectural project. We believe furniture makes architecture.

The flagship of STATEMENT jewelery house has opened a few steps away from the Tuileries garden, Paris.

The project, signed by duo Agathe Labaye & Florian Sumi, is a collaboration with architects Abinal & Ropars. For the duration of the project, the designers focus on the world of jewelry for a cutting-edge result. The rigorous details are brought to the forefront in order to link the ornments with the space.

The interiors’ volume ressembles a faceted capsule and welcomes the jewelry designed by founder of the brand Amélie Huynh. This technically advanced universe uses the language of its inhabitant for an architectural and design accuracy. All while referencing the brutalist movement through the monolithic setting and immersive envelope.

Entirely developped in a kind of cement slab, the shell or “concrete skin” extends throughout the space. STATEMENT’s futuristic aesthetic resonates with the materials used, such as the vibrated stainless steel, aluminum, polyurethane foam, powder sintering, lacquered wood or mirror. The set display is meticulously thought out, from the hook design meant to hang the jewelry in the glass pedestal, to the museography borrowing from a high-tech laboratory.

In a progressive circulation of the space, the jewels are revealed in the wall displayed cases. The earring-bar and trianlge patterned large stele with sharp edges open their clear glass with a magnetic system and endow a sci-fi look.

To complete the experience, and intimate and modular fitted space is created by the bench, the levitating gem table and full length swivelling mirror.
When Alyh, the virtual protagonist and icon to the jewelry house, lives and roams around the vertical rift, a screen reveals her digital universe.
